I was invited by Rocket Pure to test and review their products. I received a Friction Therapy Anti-Chafe Balm Stick and Eucalyptus Foot and Shoe Deodorizing Power for this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I was contacted by Rocket Pure, a small family company in Bellingham, Washington, to try their products. I don’t say yes to every product I am offered. I want to make sure I will USE the product and be truthful with my readers on whether I would purchase the product and use it myself.
When I found out that Rocket Pure had a anti chafe stick, I was intrigued since I only knew of 1 anti chafe product on the market – Body Glide. I have been using Body Glide exclusively since I began running in 2008. I never had a problem, but I was intrigued to test out Rocket Pure Friction Therapy.
I received Rocket Pure Friction Therapy right before runDisney’s Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend. I have been using it exclusively ever since running the following races using Friction Therapy Anti-Chafe Balm Stick: Tinker Bell 5K, Tinker Bell 10K, Tinker Bell Half Marathon, Mystic Half Marathon and Iron Horse Half Marathon as well as all my training runs.
I normally rub anti-chafe balm on my upper thighs, upper arms and around my sports bra band. Since using Friction Therapy I haven’t chafed at all in these places. I love that the stick doesn’t stain or leave white marks on my clothes. I haven’t used the Friction Therapy on any runs longer than 16-miles so I can only recommend it for that distance and under right now, but the protection it has provided on my runs thus far has been excellent. The balm did not seem to rub off, even in humid, sweaty conditions. Also, I really liked that I could trust the product to not leave a residue on my clothes and costumes.
I also tried Rocket Pure’s Eucalyptus foot and shoe deodorizing powder. This product claims to “fight foot and shoe odor, freshens feet, sport shoes and sneakers.” I may be wrong, but I don’t think my feet stink so I wouldn’t normally purchase this product for myself. However, I tried it. I used it during the rainy Tinker Bell 5K to help prevent blisters. I also used it during the plane flight home from California for cooling in my recovery compression socks.
The Eucalyptus Foot Powder smells fantastic, but other than that, I personally didn’t feel a need for the product. Was it cooling? Kind of. I look forward to reading Perfectly Goofy Gail’s upcoming review at RunAllTheRaces. She’s loving this foot powder and probably is a better person to review.
Rocket Pure’s Eucalyptus foot and shoe deodorizing powder is made in the U.S. of natural ingredients. It has no harsh or toxic chemicals and is paraben free. It is made of essential oils of eucalyptus and mint.
