Kimberly Markey’s claim to fame is she ran 2 World Marathon Majors and the Dopey Challenge during chemotherapy treatments for breast cancer. Kimberly is also very proud of the fact she beat Pamela Anderson’s 2013 New York City finish time by 13 minutes having had chemo the Friday prior to racing. She is a world traveler who has visited all but 2 U.S. States. Known for her perfectly round head (which she rocked during chemo), her talents include the ability to fall asleep anywhere, playing the violin & piano and taking selfies with her unusually long arms. When Kimberly is not working, sewing costumes, driving her children to activities or running with her Vizsla, she enjoys hiking in our National Parks, downhill skiing and watching mindless reality TV.
Kimberly is a “nutmegger” who has been married to her geologist husband for over 15 years. They have a 13-year daughter, a 9-year old son, 2 Vizslas, a Siamese, a Gecko and 2 pigeons. Kimberly has been running since 2008 and volunteers with Hartford Marathon Foundation coaching first-time marathoners. She is Maniac #5446, Fanatic #4192, Double Agent #467.
